Karma Kitchen

As many of you already know, I’m a die-hard fan of Indian food—especially when it comes with a British twist. I’ve been known to plan entire trips to the UK with one thing in mind: curry. There’s just nothing quite like that rush of heat, the explosion of spices, the depth of flavor that lingers long after the meal is done. My love for it goes far beyond the classics like chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. This is a full-blown, weekly craving.

Finding places in Brussels that hit all those notes isn’t always easy. Few dare to go full throttle with the spices, and even fewer manage to do it right. But there’s one place that never disappoints—Karma Kitchen.

I’ve always loved the story behind this restaurant. Pavan, the brilliant mind behind Mission Masala, has created something truly special. Raised by Indian parents in the UK, she brings together the fire of Indian home cooking with the comforting nostalgia of British-style curry houses. It’s the best of both worlds. And she doesn’t stop there—Pavan and her husband Tim now run five restaurants. Each one rooted in those same memories of her mother’s kitchen, modernized with flair and soul. Her chef, an essential part of the team, also brings recipes from his village in India to the table, adding even more authenticity and depth to the menu.

My latest visit to Karma Kitchen was timed perfectly with the launch of their new menu—and let me tell you, it won’t let you down. The concept is centered around sharing, just as it should be with Indian cuisine. The menu is now broader than ever, with plenty of meat and vegetarian options. Dishes range from 9€ to 17€, which is very reasonable considering the quality. Expect to spend about 30€ per person on food, not including drinks.

If choosing feels overwhelming (and it will), they’ve made life easier with their tasting menus for two. There’s a meat version and a vegetarian one, each generously filled with a variety of dishes from across the menu. Priced at 77€ for the meat and 75€ for the veg, they’re made to be shared, making it a great deal at under 40€ per person.
Karma Kitchen is finally open for lunch on weekends! They made it simple and affordable. Get a yummy curry and rice for under 20€.

And let’s talk about the cocktails. They’re not just good—they’re crafted, balanced, and just what you want on a sunny terrace. Karma Kitchen’s outdoor space sits across from Place Sainte-Catherine, tucked into the quieter square of Place du Vieux Marché aux Grains. Under the trees, cocktail in hand, spicy bites on the table—it’s one of my favorite spots to spend a warm evening in Brussels.

Karma Kitchen isn’t just another curry house.
It’s a love letter to for your taste buds.
