Wantany

The first word that comes to mind when I think of Wantany is : home
Coming to Wantany is like a welcoming hug. You’re always welcomed with a warm smile, either by owner Nadège Witco or her sister. During the lunch service, you will find Nadège’s mother hard at work in the kitchen. Making all those handmade wontons they’re famous for. They make vegetarian, scampi or meat raviolis and they present them in all sorts of ways.
Of course, the classic way is in a broth. I’m a firm believer that a good wonton soup can cure any hangover. And this is one of them. They also fry their wontons as a starter to share.

I’m a big fan of their lunch special. For 15€ you get three fried raviolis and a wonton soup. It’s a generous portion and so nutritious!
If you have a dessert, I recommend trying the banana fried wontons, served with coconut ice cream from Gaston. The mashed banana inside reminded me of something my mom made when I was little.

They’re situated on my favourite pedestrian street in Brussels, Rollebeek street. A picturesque cobble stone street, free of tourist traps. It leads up to Sablon, another great place to stop and do some window shopping and people watching.
