Yi Chan

Yi Chan restaurant, a few steps away from The Brussels Stock Exchange/Bourse/Beurs is an exceptional Asian restaurant that is often overlooked. It sits amongst the crowded Jules Van Praet street, where so many other Asian and Indian restaurants reside. It is important to note that this establishment was the first of it’s kind on this strip. Opened over 40 years ago by Yen Pham’s parents (originally under the name of Bambou Fleur), it was the family’s bread and butter. In 2016, Yen took charge of the reins and after coming in second place in the World Class Bartender competition - Belgium and Luxembourg edition - in 2018, he made this place his own.

Needless to say that the cocktails here are incredible. Classics have received an personal Asian twist and original drinks are small masterpieces. They also have a great natural wine selection, all of them from small producers.

The food is what makes me come back here every time. Every dish is made with care and thought. Not only the flavors are involved, but also the textures. On top of my list here is for sure the Peking duck. There’s something really fun about the paper thin wraps and making your own delicious bite! And the duck breast is always perfectly cooked. We normally have a few starters to share. My personal favorites are marinated egg plant, crunchy red chili cucumbers, the pork nems and ALL the dim sums are a winners.

They have a spacious terrace and an air conditioned interior, for those hot summer days.
