Old boy, an Asian inspired restaurant with so many ideas it will make your head spin! I never cease to be amazed by this place. their Bangkok street food inspiration is creative and simply finger linking good.

I was recommended this place by the chef at Resto Henri (aka: my boss). He referred to Old Boy as one of his favourites, so of course, I had to give it a go. I wasn’t disappointed. Their flavours are bold, the ingredients are of top quality and their execution is perfect. Since they reopened, after lockdown, they now work on reservations only and I personally prefer that to the previous waiting in line idea. They also have fixed menus, one includes meat dishes and the other is either with fish or vegetarian. I’ve been back a few times in the last months and it has definitely become my go-to! Each time the menus wow me. From delicious bao’s, to perfectly cooked Holstein beef, to sticky and rich sauces, let your taste buds go crazy!

Another great thing here is the show. Watching the chef and his team work their magic is a beautiful thing. The waiters are also lovely, always with a friendly smile and very knowledgeable. It’s so refreshing to see such a healthy work environment.

Needless to say that I recommend Old Boy no matter where you live in Brussels. It’s worth the trip to Ixelles. It’s also a great area to have a drink before or after. A short walk away from Tarzan and Jane wine bars. Just follow Tenbosch from the trendy Châtelain area. Make sure to book in advance and let me know what you thought!

Open evenings only from Monday to Saturday
