Crème


I made my way over to Crème on a rainy day, craving for some comfort food and a heart warming latte. Chloé Sengier, creator of Crème is also the genius behind Coco Donuts, which is a now staple of Sablon. So I knew I was going to be pleasantly surprised. Crème is also located on one of my favorite streets in the center, Rollebeek street. Even on a Wednesday afternoon, the place was full of young people chatting away, and feeling completely at home. It was a welcoming sight. The restaurant is very comfortable, with pillows on every seat, decorated in a way that is both hip and keeping with the original architecture of the ancestral building.

The young staff were all smiles and happy to see people coming into the restaurant. The takeaway counter had a flow of patrons coming and going with steamy coffees and little pastries.

Crème is THE place for brunch. Based on an Australian style lifestyle, they will satisfy any craving around a breakfast idea. Since I had a serious poached egg craving, I went for the Signature eggs and toast. Which is almost eggs benedict, but with a thick crunchy wheat toast instead of english muffins. I wish I could’ve eaten more, because I saw some pretty mouth watering dishes go by. Beautiful fluffy pancakes, a crispy chicken bun (made with a homemade brioche bun) and homemade classic english scones. Everything here is fresh and made in house.

Crème is set on two floors, with a terrace in front of the restaurant and a second terrace on the second floor. Lots of seating and quick service make it an easy option even on weekends. They also have a new quick reservation system available on their website, which allows you to request a table and you get a notification 10 minutes before your table is ready. Advanced bookings in a traditional way are not available. But don’t let that discourage you, you won’t wait long and it’s really worth it!
